- Safety First!
- At the pre-designated check-in location, you are required to present a valid MD Hunting License, Shooter Qualification Certificate and this signed notification.
- At all times, you must wear your safety orange or pink (hat and/or vest/jacket).
- Park at designated areas only. No blocking of gates and roads. WSSC Water personnel may not transport hunters to remote locations.
- All hunters must use a tree stand at least 10 ft. above the ground. No exceptions!
- While on a tree stand, you must always wear your safety harness.
- You must stay on the tree stand till 11:00 am. Violators will be removed from the hunt.
- WSSC Water requires a safety zone (No hunting or discharging of firearms) of 150 yards from occupied building or roadway.
- Only shotguns with a single projectile are allowed (slugs, sabots, etc.). No buckshot or muzzleloaders.
- Be an ethical hunter. No field dressing on the access road. Remove all trash, ribbons, gloves, etc. Cover the harvested deer when leaving WSSC Water property.
- You must fill out the Hunter Harvest Card and mark “Managed Deer Hunt” on your license before the deer is moved from the kill site.
- After properly tagging and field dressing the harvested deer, it is the hunter’s
responsibility to move the deer to the edge of the access road, were WSSC Water personnel will help transport the harvested deer to your vehicle.
- You must report your harvest to the MD DNR before you leave WSSC Water property.
- Once the hunt is finished, all hunters must check out at a pre-designated location. We will verify that you have filled out the Hunters Harvest Card on your license and we require the MD DNR Confirmation Number.
- We are strongly encouraging QDMA (Quality Deer Management Association) practices for antlered deer.
- Depending on staffing conditions, we may drive deer.
- No confrontations with adjoining landowners, hunters or WSSC Water personnel.
